Job Purpose:
Prepares overall schedule program for testing wells, bottom hole surveys, wire line operations, well stimulation and related Petroleum Engineering Operations. Monitors the performance and progress in implementation and recommends corrective measures to resolve operational difficulties. Conducts short-term studies to improve the efficiency of production/injection operations.
Principal Accountabilities:
Supervises and controls problematic wells and overseeing their plan to be cleared out of inventory. Takes inactive wells and proposes well studied innovative engineering solutions to address short & medium term solutions. Keeps relevant data base and manages list on continued basis while receiving information from Production, Technical Support, and Field Development & Drilling Divisions.
Plans the monthly barge requirements reflecting petroleum engineering jobs such as Asphaltenes clean out, coiled tubing operations. Designs, supervises and follows-up stimulation (post rig / acid boat) operations. In addition to water/gas shut off and other production technology activities.
â?¢ Liaises with Petroleum Engineer (Completion Practices) studies addressing specific operational problems and submits appropriate recommendations for cost-effective solutions. Introduces new methods to maximize wells availability for production/injection and monitoring. Engineering support for execute rigless intervention programs 24/7.
â?¢ Follows-up and evaluates wire line and well's monitoring operations according to the Reservoir Monitoring programme and discusses any problems and proposes solutions.
â?¢ Provides Technical Support Division with the monthly well testing and logging Bar Chart in accordance with reservoir monitoring policy and follows-up the progress and achievement.
â?¢ Programs and researches the acid stimulation recipes and consults with service companies for execution. Engineers programs that are adherent to well integrity standards and assures well integrity during execution.
â?¢ Delivers the assigned milestones & KPI of the division. Coaches CAMS engineers as part of the training program. Ensures rigless program to be executed to clear out inactive/low productivity wells. Ensures post rig operations/rigless intervention to be delivered as per well integrity standards.
â?¢ Works with Technical Support Division and Field Development Divisions (US, ZK & NF) to assess production performance and propose any remedial solutions.
â?¢ Conducts studies and contributes in the conceptual design of the possible short and medium term solutions for the new projects and/or modifications of the existing production/injection facilities to upgrade performance and efficiency. Example - Stimulation, Fracturing, Horizontal Drilling & the use of Artificial lift methods.
â?¢ Optimizes lifting performance and detect vertical lift bottle-necking by running different simulation models such as prosper. Creates database for wells/jobs to allow excellent management of data for engineer use. Writes up / presentations and reports on inactive wells for Drilling & Well Integrity Sub-Committee (DWISC) and Technical Committee Meeting (TCM) on bi-annual basis. Research market for new technology and applications.
Participates in writing technical papers for COMPANY and effectively reflecting them in SPE workshops and events.
Provides knowledge transfer & training assistance to colleagues, assistants and newly appointed engineers, Mentor, University Students through various means.
Coaches and monitors the young UAE engineers and performs evaluation of their professional career development to achieve a high standard of professionalism and the capability to work independently.
Provides assistance to peers in case of challenges /shortage of staff. Designs programs that are safe and in line with the COMPANY policy. Assess risks associated with job planning and programming
Guides, directs and supervises subordinates to ensure they work to their best potential and contribute effectively as a Team.
Minimum Requirements [Knowledge Skills & Experience]:
Bachelor Degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering discipline or equivalent.
5 - 6 years relevant experience of all aspects of Petroleum Engineering Operations.
Proficient in English
